Triduum Services at El Camino de San Antonio Missions

The Triduum, meaning “three days” in Latin, is a liturgical season celebrated in the Catholic Church that spans Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, culminating in the Easter Vigil. All the churches along the El Camino de San Antonio Missions are still active parish communities, you are invited to attend the following services with us!

San Fernando Cathedral

• April 17th: Evening Mass of the Lord Supper (Holy Thursday)

  • 7:00 pm with Adoration in Plaza de la Cruz to follow until Midnight (weather permitting).

• April 18th: Good Friday

  • 9:45 am Ecumenical Service at Travis Park
  • 10 am via Cruces Begin at Travis Park
  • 12 Noon Arrival at Cathedral
  • 1:00 pm Siete Palabras (Spanish)
  • 3:00 pm Celebration of the Lord’s Passion
  • 4-6 pm Reconciliation in Plaza
  • 7:00 pm Pesame (Spanish) Please bring fresh flowers!

• April 19th: Holy Saturday

  • 7:00pm Bilingual Mass. Holy water removed, presentation of holy oils, washing of feet, stripping of altar, Adoration at the Altar of Repose in the San Juan Diego Chapel.

  • 3:00 pm Seven Last Words of Christ with the Women of the Cross
  • 7:00 pm Good Friday Service with Adoration of the Holy Cross

• Saturday April 19: Holy Saturday

  • 8:00 pm The Easter Vigil. The Easter fire, darken church, new Paschal candle, new waters of baptism, retablo unveiled, alleluia is heard again, and the bells of the church.
