El Camino de San Antonio Missions invites you to Día de los Muertos at the Missions!

The Día de los Muertos ofrendas featured are from the Missions of San Antonio parish communities. Each Mission Church parish community – Mission Concepción, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada have created an altar as a way to honor, remember and celebrate their Mission ancestors and loved ones who have passed away.

Visitors and Pilgrims will have the opportunity to experience the rich traditions and spiritual significance of Día de los Muertos – a religious tradition that celebrates and honors the dead, where family, friends, and important figures of the community are remembered, and their lives celebrated through altar displays with traditional religious icons and symbols.

The Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center, located at the El Camino de San Antonio Missions, is a place where pilgrims and tourists are welcomed and supported. The Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center provides spiritual programming, materials and resources and also houses a Gift Shop and the Camino Café.

The event is free, and will run from Saturday, October 12th – Friday November 15th. The Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center is open Mon-Sat, 9am-5pm.
