La Gran Posada at San Fernando Cathedral. Posadas, a beautiful tradition commemorating the journey Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe place to stay in preparation for the birth of Jesus. The procession begins at 6:00 pm in Milam Park and ends at 8:00 pm with Christmas Music to follow at San Fernando Cathedral.
The route for La Gran Posada is as follows:
6:00 p.m. – Milam Park, prayer service
6:30 p.m. – Depart Milam Park
6:40 p.m. – Mi Tierra Restaurant
6:50 p.m. – La Margarita Restaurant
7:10 p.m. – Spanish Governor’s Palace
7:20 p.m. – San Antonio City Hall
7:40 p.m. – Bexar County Courthouse
8:00 p.m. – San Fernando Cathedral for prayer and Christmas music
